At Uplands Infant School, we are an inclusive environment and make continuous improvements to our school grounds to ensure good accessibility. In 2014, we underwent an accessibility review from Ash Field Academy. From these visits we have developed our Accessibility Plan.
Positive aspects included ramps into the reception area, large spaces for wheelchair access around the school, lifting equipment and a disabled toilet with good facilities. We have recently improved the outdoor area to make it more accessible for both those with mobility difficulties and for parents with pushchairs. We have also improved our signage to the school.
We are planning to build a ramp into the playground to help visitors, staff and children manoeuvre the different levels of the main playground.
