Nursery

In the year before your child turns 3, contact the School to register your interest. You will need to bring a photocopy of your child’s birth certificate. We will write to you to confirm your child’s place. You will be invited to an induction day to learn about the school and how we will ensure your child’s educational journey is happy, safe and stimulating. You will also be invited to a meeting with one of the team to obtain key information about your child and provide more information about the school. Our Parent Co-ordinator will be available to help those parents whose first language is not English, providing translation and help with completing admission forms. The Nursery Team also conduct Home Visits to help children settle into Nursery.

We can also provide places for those parents who qualify for 30 hours of free childcare funding. We also offer extra AM or PM sessions to parents who do not qualify for an additional fee. Please contact us if you would like more details about this.

Our Nursery application form can be accessed here.

Reception

All children in Nursery will need to apply via the Local Authority to move up to Reception year at this school. If you wish to apply for a full-time place for your child at Uplands Infant School then you need to submit an online application with the Local Authority. They will then write to you to let you know which School your child has been allocated to. You may be placed on a waiting list or allocated another school if your child’s year group is already full, you can appeal this decision here: LCC Appeals

All new joiners are invited to an induction which takes place during the summer term. You will also be invited to a meeting with one of the team to obtain key information about your child and provide more information about the school.

To apply online for a place and for more details, please visit the Leicester City Council website here.

In-Year Admissions

For those with children starting later in the school year for whatever reason, you will need to register with the Local Authority who will allocate a school place for you.
