This week in PE reception children have been learning how to move their bodies in different ways. We have been learning how to side step and gallop. Side steps enable children to pivot, move and change directions quickly when playing different sports. These movement help children develop confidence and control when moving.

Reception & KS1 children have been enjoying their learning time in continuous provision!

Cheetahs class are learning about the classifications of animals in science and they have linked it with art by drawing pictures of reptiles and then painting them in the style of Cezanne.

Uplands Infant School are taking part in the Connecting Classrooms Project which aims to make children more aware of the food they eat and of hunger around the world and its effects on children, old age people, and differently able people from UK and Nepal.

This project also explores the local and global food produced around Nepal and the UK.

Through this collaborative project, the students of both countries will develop their global citizenship, creativity and imagination skills.

Our partner school in Nepal is called Noble Academy and the topic of our first meeting was ‘My School. My Pride’. The children started off by introducing themselves and then we showed and discussed the different areas in our school such as the playground, continuous provision, classroom displays, zen areas.

Here are pictures from our first meeting:
