The children have been learning the Golden Rules and routines of our school and classroom. We are so proud of how the children have settled; they have shown great enthusiasm and motivation towards their learning.

If we have more than one letter of interest, a vote will be taken by the other school parents and a winner will be announced!

At the end of this term we will be saying goodbye to Miss Keshav, Mr Aziz & Miss Harrison.
Miss Keshav (previously known as Mrs Lal) has been at Uplands for an incredible 25 years! Miss Keshav worked as a class TA for many years but has recently made the huge leap into teaching. She will be truly missed by the staff, children and parents! Thankfully she isn’t going too far as she is continuing her teaching carer at one of our Trust schools – Green Lane Infant School.
Mr Aziz has also been at Uplands for many years and has taken the journey from class TA, to teacher and has just completed a year as the Year 2 Team Leader. Mr Aziz has decided to develop his skill set and use his talents to benefit the community by setting up his own Youth Mentoring Project. We wish Mr Aziz all the best in his new venture!
Although Miss Harrison has only been with Uplands for a year she has made a big impact on our school and the children in her class. Miss Harrison is an enthusiastic, passionate and dedicated teacher (who can also run very fast!). Miss Harrison will be moving on to a school in Wigston, we are sure they will love her just as much as we do!
We are sure you will all join us in wishing all three of them the very best in their future careers!

A fun packed day of excitement and learning as the Reception children enjoyed a day at Stonehurst Farm.  Children enjoyed feeding the animals, petting the small animals, a tractor ride, jumping off hay bails, a nature walk, visiting a museum of old transportation, playing on the play equipment.  The children even enjoyed a delicious cooling ice lolly to cool them down in the hot sun.

The nursery had a great time visiting the Farm. As little explorers they learnt that the farm is home to lots of different animals. They have learnt that we see farms mainly in the countryside where there are lots of fields, grass, and trees. The children have also learnt the names of the adult animals and baby animals and where they might live on the farm.

The year 1 children had a fantastic time at Twycross Zoo, they saw all kinds of animals including Giraffes, Zebras, Meercats, Tortoises, lots of different monkeys and even a Tiger!

Reception sport day was super fun. From sprints, sack races, egg and spoon races and balancing bean bag races. All the children had an amazing day.
