Uplands Infant School are taking part in an exciting project called Early Words Together at Three which is being run by the National Literacy trust with Leicester Education Strategic Partnership. The aim of the project is to improve communication, language and literacy practice in early years settings and help families improve their home learning environment through simple, playful activities.
The programme is delivered over five weeks by practitioners in our setting. We are taking part in the project because research has shown that some children in Leicester can be up to 17 months behind their peers in terms of vocabulary by age three.
We would like to extend a huge thanks to our parents who are helping us in this project!
